Sports Injuries
Tissue injuries from sports can be classified as macro traumatic or micro traumatic.
Macro traumatic injuries are usually due to strong force-such as fall, accident, collision or laceration – and are more common in contact sports.
Micro traumatic are chronic injuries that result from overuse of a structure such as muscle, joint, ligament or tendon. This type of injury is more common in swimming, cycling or rowing.
Physiotherapists use exercise to help patients improve movement, flexibility, and strength.
